Streamers

Top Streamer Fly Patterns

The rivers and lakes of the Yellowstone region are full of sculpin, minnows, crayfish, and other large food items that the big trout prey on. This makes streamer fishing very productive and popular, and results in some of the biggest trout caught each year. I enjoy streamer fishing, especially in the spring and fall when big trout are looking for larger prey. Generally, I prefer simple streamer patterns, such as woolly buggers and zonkers. But I do enjoy tying some of the beautiful articulated flies that have become so popular. Check out my top streamer patterns for the Yellowstone region.
