Journal

The journal section is where I share my fly fishing experiences and stories in as much detail as I can. After years of keeping a journal of my days fishing, I realized the value in these stories and how many could benefit from reading these entries. I outline the bugs that were hatching, the flies that were working, where the fish were holding, and of course the big fish that got away. It is also a place I can look back on years later, and relive the amazing experiences I have had out on the water. I hope you enjoy these stories when you cant be out on the water yourself, and are able to learn from my experiences fishing these famed waters.

Favorite Fish of 2023 While the fish are just a part of what I enjoy about fly fishing, they do make days on the water more memorable. What a beautiful fall we had here fishing in the Greater Yellowstone Region. As I write this during Thanksgiving week, we have no snow on the ground. This time last year the rivers were frozen and I was ice fishing. When I got out last weekend it was 50 degrees and the baetis hatch was strong.
