Brown Trout

Brown Trout

Anglers travel worldwide to catch the brown trout of the Greater Yellowstone Region. While not native, brown trout are high on many anglers’ lists for their aggressive behavior and the size that they grow to. Brown trout are known for being rather reclusive, tending to be more difficult to catch than other trout species in the region. They are spread across the region, with a few famous brown trout fisheries being the Madison River, Henry’s Fork, Firehole River, Hebgen Lake, Gallatin River, and many more. Here are a few of my favorite photos of brown trout in the Greater Yellowstone Region.
