Yellowstone Cutthroat Trout

Yellowstone Cutthroat Trout

The Yellowstone Cutthroat is one of the most sought-after trout in the Greater Yellowstone Region. Known for their willingness to take a dry fly and their slow rise forms, the Yellowstone Cutthroat is my favorite fish to catch on a fly rod. Yellowstone Cutthroat trout are native to many streams throughout the region. A few of the popular Yellowstone Cutthroat fisheries include Yellowstone Lake, Yellowstone River, Slough Creek, Lamar River, Soda Butte Creek, and the Snake River. They also inhabit many of the small streams and backcountry lakes. Here are a few of my favorite photos of one of the most beautiful species in the region.
